Dr. Glidden states there is a medical monopoly
- he believes this is the cause of the chronic disease epidemic
- MDs practice allopathic medicine where every other approaches is seen as quackery with substandard, dangerous training
- allopathic medicine is good for surgery and trauma care.
- He is thankful for insulin, lidocaine and general anesthesia when in the dentist chair
- It is not the drugs, but how they are used
Allopathic Medicine
- practiced by MDs
- is reductionistic based on Newtonian physics
- if it can’t be measured, it does not exist
- believes the body is a bag of biochemicals waiting to break
- the soul and vital force are not emphasized and consciousness is seen as a function of biochemistry
- MDs are taught to manage the symptomology
- MEs are not taught to cure anything except a handful of bacterial infections
- e.g. heart burn, high blood pressure arthritis, depression eczema, asthma, infertility are measured not cured
- they are trained in a methodology inconsistent with the reality of the human experience
- We are spiritual beings having a physical experience
- Third leading cause of death is MD directed therapeutics, he says
- Medications push the metabolism in a certain direction which burns through some nutrients so the drug does not work as well over time
- adding essential nutrients, the drug works better
The root of most diseases is dynamic and can only be treated with dynamic medicines
Naturopathic medicine
- naturopathic medicine, homeopathic, ayurvedic medicine, chiropractic, traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, hands on healing are subsets of holistic medicine
- these are all curative
- Holistic medicine therapeutics (every other system in the world including naturopathy believes that the human body is inhabited by a spiritual force which is intelligent
- naturopath beliefs
- human body knows how to fix itself
- the human body wants to fix itself
- the body is trying all the time to fix itself
- the holistic physician’s sacred obligation to develop and deliver therapeutics that support and promote the body’s God given ability to fix itself
Naturopathic approaches
- medical nutrition
- stop eating foods that cause inflammation
- detoxify the body as there are so many environmental toxins
- get rid of parasites
- therapeutic use of hydrotherapy and botanicals to support and stimulate body’s self healing
- examples,
- high blood pressure consider deficiency in calcium and magnesium
- depression consider amino acid imbalance, toxin overload and blood sugar metabolism
- if nutrition, not eating inflammatory foods, do not work, consider, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, hands on healing
Taking many supplements
- this is prevalent. He calls this green allopathic medicine
- single fractionated supplementations cause unwanted effects
- e.g. resulted in increase in cataracts.
- The best way to provide holistic medical nutrition
- There are 90 essential nutrients. 60 minerals, and 16 vitamins, 12 amino acids and two fatty acids
- these are no longer in our food because the soil is depleted.
Health
- is the ability of a living organism to experience negative stress and remain symptom free – a state of dynamic equilibrium
- microbial stress, weather, aging, toxins, political stress, financial stress, emotional stress
- these have less negative effect in a healthy, nutrient complete body
- microbial stress, weather, aging, toxins, political stress, financial stress, emotional stress
Medical Research Bias
- Marcia Angel, MD, former editor of the New England Journal of Medicine, said,
- “Any reputable medical journal is at the mercy of what is submitted to it and must choose from whatever comes over the transom. Many medical studies never see the light of day because their findings are negative. There is a heavy bias towards positive studies, and this bias is a real problem. A drug company may conduct 1000 trials of a new drug. If two are positive, they get FDA approval and are published, the other 998 never see the light of day, and in point of fact, half of all study data is never published.”
- Richard Smith, MD 25 year editor of the British Medical Journal, said
- “Medical journals are just an extension of the marketing departments of major drug companies.”
- Richard Horton, MD, editor of the lancet, said,
- “Medical journals have devolved into information laundering operations for the pharmaceutical industry.”
- In 2006, the New England Journal of Medicinecompared three diabetes drugs and concluded that Avandia was the best one.
- Galaxo Smith Kline made the drug, funded the study and each author was either an employee who owned stock or persons who received grants from Galaxo Smith Kline.
- over 80,000 heart attacks were attributed to Avandia
Needed is medical Freedom
- Benjamin Rush, signer of the Declaration of Independence wrote,
- “Unless we put medical freedom into the constitution the time will come when medicine will organize itself into a dictatorship. To restrict the art of healing to one class of people and deny equal privileges to others will constitute the Bastille of medical science. All such laws are un-American and despotic.”
